Two Country legends are coming to the Calgary Folk Festival this summer.

It was announced yesterday, Thursday April 20, that Emmylou Harris has been added to the lineup.

Harris has a long history of singing duets with many artists and covering other artists songs as well as her solo performances.

The 'Queen of Country Rock' has been playing and recording a lot more acoustic Americana albums and should fit in well at the folk festival.

Harris will headline the main stage on Thursday July 27.

And Tanya Tucker who just recently resurrected her career will also be playing at the festival this year.

Tucker most recently won Grammy awards for Best Country Album and Best Country Song in 2020. It was her first album in almost 20 years.

She also has a new album 'Sweet Western Sound' coming out June 2 and Tucker plays the main stage on Friday July 28.

The 44th annual Folk Festival runs from July 27-30 at Prince's Island Park.
