While 2020 has seen the cancellation of many events in Cochrane, a homeowner in River Heights is once again transforming his home into a haunted house, all for a great cause.

The homeowner and mastermind behind Frights For Food, Gary Robertson is using his love for Halloween to raise donations for the Veterans Food Bank. "There was a bit of back and forth consideration on kind of how we could make it work but you know at the end of the day, the Veterans Food Bank is gonna need help more than ever with more demand on it based on things that have been happening. So, you know, for people that have done so much for our community and for our country. I think it's so important that we try and do what we can to support them."

Starting at 5 pm on Halloween night, Cochranites will be able to visit 70 River Heights Crescent to check out Robertson's latest creation, CarnEVIL Sideshow. "This year's event is an outdoor only event so there'll be some more stuff set up out in the yard of the house and there'll be a display in the garage that people can kind of look at from the outside, but at the end, it's more of an outside walk around, walk through event for people to still come, you know, have a little bit of fun and get a little bit of normal life. But, certainly to take into account the precautions that we need to take given the circumstances here."

“Our funhouse has been closed for deCLOWNtamination and that has forced all of its occupants to spill out onto the grounds.”

If you can't stop by Halloween night and would still like to donate, Robertson will happily accept your donations now until the end of this week.
