With a solid 39-6 win under their belts over Strathmore, the Cochrane High Cobras have advanced to the next round of high school Tier 2 ASAA provincials.

The Cobras will be facing the Bishop Carroll Cardinals on Stampeders Field at Shoudice Park on Nov. 11 at 4 p.m.

The Cobras are ranked sixth by Football Alberta among Tier II teams with a 7-2 record. Both of their losses came at the hands of the George McDougall Mustangs.

The Bishop Carroll Cardinals have a perfect 8-0 record and are ranked seventh overall in Tier II. Their last game was a 38-9 win over Joane Cardinal-Schubert High.

Two other Rocky View football teams have been eliminated from provincial play.

The season is over for the George McDougall Mustangs after having their wings clipped by the Foothills Composite Falcons in a 13-10 defensive battle. As the Cobras did last season, the Mustangs decided to take a shot at winning the Larry Wilson Tier One championship.

The Springbank Phoenix have finished their season after being shut out by the powerhouse Holy Trinity Knights, 40-0.
