Banff-Airdrie MP Blake Richards is no longer Opposition Whip for the Conservatives.

Candice Bergen, interim leader of the Conservatives, cleaned house on former leader Erin O'Toole's team in Ottawa on Feb. 4.

Bergen, a Manitoba MP and deputy leader under O'Toole, was chosen last Wednesday as interim leader after the party voted to remove O'Toole by a 73 - 45 vote.

Richards, who had served as Opposition Whip since September 2020, was removed from the leadership team, along with Quebec MP Gerard Deltell, Ontario's Michael Barrett, and Manitoba's James Berezan. Bergen replaced Richards with Red Deer-Lacombe MP, Blake Calkins. Liane Rood, from Ontario, was named deputy whip.

John Brassard from Ontario becomes the Conservative House Leader, and Tom Kmiec, the representative for Calgary-Shepherd will now serve as deputy House Leader.

Brassard and Kmiec were two of the nine candidates who ran to be the interim leader.

The removal of Quebec's Deltell means that the Tories now have no representative from Quebec among their parliamentary leadership team.
