It was a tough loss New Year’s Eve for the Canadian Juniors.

After a sobering 3-1 loss against the US on New Year’s Eve, the juniors regrouped and came out full force against the Czechs in the quarter final, winning 5-3.

Dillon Dube, Team Canada, Left Winger, says it was good for them to take the loss against the US. Team Canada had been smooth sailing until that point in the tournament, and the match against the US showed them what it was going to take to win gold at this tournament.

"It’s good to have that adversary as it taught us how hard it is to win. Now we are behind the eight ball and realize what it takes, and we can push through it."

Dube was set up beautifully in front of the US net late in the third period, but couldn't quite get his stick on the puck. Although disappointed, he has put it behind him and is now focusing on the Sweden game being played tonight in Montreal.

"It was tough, I really wanted that goal. But I have to look past that and realize we are where we want to be, and in a really good pool."

The semi final game against Sweden is promised to be intense and emotional for Team Canada.
