With two road wins to kick off 2024, the Cochrane Chaos are home this weekend for a pair of games, including a match-up against the top team in the north division of the AJFHL.

The Edmonton Wolves are in town today (Jan. 13) for a 2:15 p.m. game at Totem One. The Chaos beat the Wolves last season to claim their first provincial championship.

The Wolves are back on top of the north division with only loss this season. They beat the Chaos, 6-1, in November, and now Cochrane is looking for a different result.

"The Wolves are very determined to come out of the north this year after their disappointment last year, and I think we really want to repeat," says Chaos head coach Derek Loomer. "We worked a lot of years to get to that first championship last year, and I think we'd love to do it again and show that we're still willing to put in the work and it's still important to us.

"It'll be a great task for us on Saturday and we'll just have to look and see how much more we have to put in to hopefully win it again this year."

But first, the Chaos have to come out of the south in playoffs, and there are a few teams determined to prevent that, including the newly-formed Foothills Storm that's here on Sunday.

"They really rise to play us, and they've never given us an easy game. It's always been a tough challenge and I expect nothing less from them this weekend."

Sunday's game goes at 5:15 p.m.

The Chaos kicked off 2024 by beating the Fort Saskatchewan Fury, 3-2, and the Sherwood Park Steele, 6-1. They are on top in the south with a 14-2-1 record.
