The Calgary Chaos kicked off their first season in the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League (AJFHL) with a home win.

The Chaos made their debut as Cochrane's newest hockey team on Sunday Oct. 2, nabbing a 2-1 overtime win against the Fort Saskatchewan Fury.

Calgary Chaos head coach Derek Loomer says the Chaos were greeted with a warm welcome from Cochrane's home crowd.

"I thought we had a great crowd, and a great game, like very entertaining for the fans, and that's what we were really hoping for to get this all started," he says. "We wanted to kick it off with a really entertaining game for everybody, create lots of energy and excitement, hopefully we can keep that going through the season."

Loomer says the win was a testament to how much the girls have been preparing for the regular season.

"It was a nice feeling, and a great result for the girls, they've been working really hard the last few weeks and it was nice to come out on top."

The Chaos will head up north this weekend to play the Fury on Saturday, Oct. 8, they will then head to Sherwood Park for a Sunday tilt against the Steele.
