The Cochrane Kiwanis Club is hosting their weekly Chase the Ace event this Sunday. The interactive fundraiser is part of their Christmas toy project initiative that benefits one hundred disadvantaged kids in the Cochrane area.

Ronald Gosselin is the president of the Cochrane Kiwanis Club and he says the weekly game is a chance for people in the community to get out and have fun while giving back to a great cause.

Gosselin says "The event itself is to fund our Christmas toy project for disadvantaged kids. So we bring one hundred kids to Walmart and we give each of them a $40 gift card to shop and pick out toys for themselves. They can get their pictures taken with Santa and it's a big Christmas party for them. In order to fund this activity we rely on the money raised from our Chase the Ace fundraiser. Participants go into a draw and the winner has a chance to pick the ace of spades and win our jackpot, and at the same time help disadvantaged kids in Cochrane."

This week's event will coincide with a Grey Cup viewing party and the jackpot is $400! The event is from 4-6 pm at The Iron Bridge Pub at 240 Riverview Drive in Cochrane.
