The last time the Cochrane Chaos lost a game is a distant memory, and the team hopes to keep it that way.

On Jan. 15, the Chaos rallied back from a 4-2 deficit early in the second to beat the Calgary Titans, 7-4, the last coming on an empty net.

Head coach Derek Loomer says the Chaos got off to a slow start, something they've been battling since the New Year.

"It's kind of indicative of how our start has been in the second half as we try to get our feet back underneath us."

He says the team has worked hard to earn that long 13-game undefeated streak in the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League.

"I think in a lot of that run we played very well and deserved to win. The last couple of games after the break have been sloppy but so have the other teams. We just have to get back to where we put together a full 60-minute game."

He says the team hasn't become complacent.

"We have a really good group. They're very competitive and they want to win. When a game starts to go against us, you can feel their competitive spirit starting to take charge, wanting to be on the ice, wanting to make a difference, and get back into it."

Carly Wlad had two goals on the night, with singles going to Autumn Kehler, Kelly Stanford, Kari Pedder, Nicole Johnson, and Brooklyn Carels.

Cassidy Brown got the start between the pipes and faced 23 shots.

The last time they lost was Oct. 17 against the Edmonton Wolves. Since then, they've beaten all comers, including the Edmonton Wolves in a rematch on Dec. 12.

On Sunday, the Chaos play the Southern Sage at the Stavely Arena in their lone weekend game.

They'll be on home ice for the first time this year on Jan. 28 against the Calgary Jags, before hosting the Southern Sage on Jan. 30.

On Feb. 5, they'll be facing the top two teams in the north division in a CJFHL showcase in Red Deer before wrapping up the regular season on the Feb. 12-13 weekend. The playoffs start the following weekend.
