The Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee is hosting a fundraising event this week that will feature delicious food, prizes and entertainment.

The event will happen on Thursday evening from 6-9 p.m. at Mehtab East Indian Cuisine.

Committee Co-Chair Sandra Scott says it's going to be a great night.

"For a $25 ticket you can come in and enjoy a beautiful appetizer buffet. There's a cash bar, a silent auction, we're going to start a raffle that night for a West Jet ticket and we're going to have someone doing Henna."

Jag Thind who owns Mehtab says they're going to have guest speaker Dr. Michael Hawley who is a Professor of Religious Studies at Mount Royal University. He'll be speaking on the Description Holi: Festival of Colours.

"Half of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the committee plus $2 from every drink they buy will go towards the committee as well."

Paul Singh, Volunteer Coordinator says there will be a silent auction with some great items.

"We have donors such as Methab, Joe's Liquor store donated a basket, Cochrane MassageWorks has gift hampers and Pampered Chef donated as well."

You can purchase your tickets from Mehtab as well as at FCSS.
