The Cochrane Pickleball Club has issued a letter of thanks to express their appreciation to all involved in making their vision come true.

Earlier this week it was announced the Cochrane Pickleball Club has been awarded $997,287 from the Alberta government's Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) toward the development of a $2.2 million pickleball court development in Greystone.

The letter reads:

"As proud recipients of a coveted CFEP grant, the Cochrane Outdoor Pickleball Club would like to express our sincere thanks to Karen Lamothe, director of community grants, and the committee for this show of support. We truly believe that this project is a great investment and we intend to prove it.

We would also like to thank the developers of Greystone, Entity One Inc., for making this dream a reality. Without your commitment and partnership, our dream of building this 20 court pickleball facility in Cochrane may never have come to fruition.

To all the businesses in Cochrane who graciously provided us with letters supporting our pursuit of the CFEP grant, we thank you for believing that these courts will benefit the Town of Cochrane not only in terms of health and happiness but from a commercial perspective as well.

Thank you also to the Hon. Peter Guthrie, MLA for Airdrie-Cochrane and minister of Infrastructure, and the Hon. Joseph Schow, minister of Tourism and Sport Alberta, for your ongoing interest and enthusiastic support of this project.

We are hoping to start this capital project in April of this year with a possible completion by August and are all very excited about this venture that will make Cochrane an even greater destination of choice."
