What do Cochrane's Connor Bouchard and Dillion Dube have in common?

Both have been invited to the Hockey Canada Summer Showcase.

Sixteen year old Bouchard will be participating in the national under 17 development camp and Dube is in the junior camp.

Bouchard is one of the 111 players who will be vying for a spot on the national team that starts with a development camp opening July 22 in Calgary. The selected players will represent Canada at the 2017 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, B.C. 

Dube is among the 42 prospects looking to be part of the  National Junior Team and will be participating in a camp hosted in Plymouth, Michigan.

Bouchard played in Cochrane at a younger age and for the last three seasons has been with the Okanagan Hockey Academy bantam and midget teams, He was a bantam draft pick for the Tri-Americans in 2016 and was signed to the WHL team on May 1, 2017.

Last October, he was assistant captain for Team Alberta's U16 team that struck gold at the Western Canada Challenge Cup.

Dube was a second round draft pick for the Calgary Flames in 2016 and has played all his junior hockey with the Kelowna Rockets, where he was part of a WHL championship team and a finalist in the Memorial Cup. In March he inked a three-year entry level deal with the Flames.
