Following a break and enter in Cochrane on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Cochrane RCMP responded to shots fired at two males, from a vehicle.

The shots fire incident took place on Stoney Nakoda Nation where police located a stolen vehicle that matched the description of the vehicle used in the shooting. 

A traffic stop was attempted but the vehicle fled from police. 

Cochrane RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit and Police Dog Services assisted in locating the stolen vehicle and a short time later two individuals were taken into custody. 

A stolen firearm was recovered at that time. 

Malik Holloway, aged 24, a resident of Stoney Nakoda First Nation, is charged with 26 offences which include discharging a firearm with intent, pointing a firearm, breaking and entering with intent to steal a firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm. 

Holloway was also wanted by Calgary Police Service for unrelated firearms offences. He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing in Cochrane Provincial Court on September 20, 2022.
