Cochrane’s Dillon Dube was supposed to be returning to the international stage this week and suiting up for Team Canada at the IIHF World Hockey Championship.

Now, that won't be happening.

The Flames forward has suffered an injury after a collision with former teammate Travis Hamonic in Wednesday's postponed regular-season game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Flames General Manager, Brad Treliving made the announcement yesterday, saying that Dube has suffered a concussion and will have to sit this one out.

Concussion aside, it was a two-point night for Dube,  scoring one goal for the Flames and assisting on another.

The Flames ended their regular season on a high, making it their 26th win of the season.

Dube served as Captain of Team Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship and led the team to a gold medal win.

The World Championship is set to kick off today in Riga, Latvia, with Canada scheduled to face off against the Latvians.
