Saturday evening saw hundreds of walkers come together to raise money and support Cochrane’s hurt, hungry and homeless.

The Coldest Night Of The Year (CNOY) fundraising event was held across the country this weekend. As of Monday, Cochrane walkers have raised $41,845. 166 registered participants took to Riverfront park in yellow CNOY touques.

The Helping Hands Society Of Cochrane and Area will be able to put the raised funds to good use. The main goal of this year’s event was to secure a van to help transport and aid the vulnerable population in Cochrane. Additionally, the money will help fund various Helping Hands programming including Cochrane’s Free Food Shed.

There is still time to donate and help grow the total to the ultimate goal of $50,000.
