Environment Canada has issued an Extreme Cold Warning for several areas in southern Alberta including Cochrane. 

The wind chill values are expected to be below -40 this morning before moderating this afternoon, but then they're expected to drop to -40 or colder on Tuesday night.

The extreme cold will likely stick around until the middle of the week.

We're being reminded to watch for cold related symptoms which include shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle pain and weakness, numbness and colour change in fingers and toes.

If you're planning to head outside, it's advised that you dress warmly and in layers.

  • Mountain View Co. near Carstairs and Stirlingville
  • Mountain View Co. near Cremona and Water Valley
  • Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
  • Mountain View Co. near Sundre
  • Rocky View Co. near Airdrie and Crossfield
  • Rocky View Co. near Bottrel and Madden
