Last night's 6-2 win by the Calgary Flames will be especially memorable for Cochrane's Dillion Dube.

Dube got the first playoff point of his career after Milan Lucic picked up the rebound from his shot to put the Flames ahead 5-2 at 8:28 of the third.

It was the third powerplay goal of the night for the Flames after going 0-4 in game two.

The Flames went on to a 6-2 win with Johnny Gaudreau scoring an empty-netter late in the game to wrap up the scoring.

Dube is playing in his first NHL playoff series.

Dube appeared in 45 games for the Flames this season before it was shelved by the outbreak of COVID-19. In his sophomore regular season, the centre had six goals and 10 assists for 16 points.

The Flames now have a 2-1 series lead against the Winnipeg Jets in their Stanley Cup qualifier round.

Game 4 takes place in the bubble of Rogers Place in Edmonton on Thurs. Aug. 6.

Game time is 8:30 p.m.
