Donations to the Cochrane and Area Humane Society always impact local animals but today they will go three times as far.

Tiffany Beaton, communications coordinator says a generous member from the community has stepped forward in a big way as part of Giving Tuesday.

"We have an anonymous donor that will be tripling the amount that you donate. So that is going to be giving us imperative funds for all of these animals and helping us care for them. If you donate $10, it's $30, if you donate $50, it's $150, if you donate $100, it's $300."

The donor will triple the donations up to $60,000.

Beaton says the need for funds at the shelter is continuous.

"From cleaning supplies and food and staffing, it really starts to add up. Never mind all of the insane medical cases that we have had come through the doors as well as the rehabilitation of all of these dogs."

Beaton says this year they have seen a huge increase in dogs that need a little bit more help, guidance and training.

"A lot of them have been coming in with some problems as well, so we've been needing to put in some extra medical care as well."
