The westbound lane of Highway 1A was closed this morning after a serious vehicle collision 3 km west of Morley Road.

Around 1 a.m. Cochrane RCMP, Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident, upon arrival they found a vehicle on its roof.

A Stoney Nakoda female was located trapped in the driver's seat, she was extracted from the vehicle, and once seen by medical personnel she advised them of two children in the vehicle.

Two male children aged three and four were located, all three people in the vehicle were taken to Calgary Hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Westbound Highway 1A has now fully re-opened.
 
All possible contributing factors related to this collision are being considered, and the collision remains under investigation.
