Four players of the Cochrane Peloton Crush 15A AAA ball team have been selected to play in the Alberta Summer Games.

Braeden Bohach-Murray, Landon O'How, and Bo Anderson will soon be practicing with the rest of the Zone 2 team in the coming weeks, while Arlo Brubaker-Plitt will be playing for Zone 3 (Calgary).

Crush head coach Corey O'How says their selection speaks to the depth of talent they have on their team and believes there are a few more that could have spots on teams.

"These four kids are going to go there and they're going represent Crush baseball and the Town of Cochrane like they always do," says O'How. "We're excited that they're going to go there to compete their hardest for their zone and try to win something. I think they'll have fun competing against each other, too, so it will be really good."

Most of these guys have played together since a young age and grown up through the ranks of Cochrane Minor Ball, first through Little League, and now with the elite 15AAA Baseball Alberta League. They'll be familiar with many of their opponents, whom they have seen throughout the seasons.

Brubaker-Plitt playing for Calgary isn't viewed harshly by his Crush teammates. If anything, it will add to the fun of competing.

"I feel very privileged for making the team," says Brubaker-Plitt. "It's a good feeling to have accomplished that."

He couldn't resist adding a little trash-talking in advance of the games.

"Anyone pitching to me, watch out."

Bo Anderson has two reasons to celebrate the season. His hard work saw him make the 15U AAA team plus earn a spot on the Zone 2 roster.

"It means a lot. It's going be so much fun with all my teammates and playing against guys I've played against now for six years."

Landon O'How says the tryouts were a battle.

"There were a lot of good players that tried out. It's an honour to be selected for the team. It was a goal of mine I set last year to make the team."

Like the rest, he says competing against familiar faces only adds to the fun.

"Especially when I get to play against Arlo," he adds with a laugh.

Braedan Bohach-Murray talked team when speaking of the accomplishment.

"I'm proud of my teammate and I'm proud to be representing Zone 2."

Okotoks and Black Diamond are hosting the games from July 20 to 23.

It's the first Alberta Summer Games since 2018.
