It was a day to remember in Bragg Creek.

Perfect summer weather, headliner George Fox, a pie-eating contest, and plenty of other family fun attracted the largest crowd ever to Bragg Creek Days on July 22.

Bragg Creek has been hosting the annual celebration for over 50 years to bring the entire community together and continue to attract a growing crowd from the surrounding area.

It was the second appearance by Cochrane's legendary country artist in recent months, both coming at no cost, thanks to generous sponsorships.

Crowds also enjoyed music from Leanne Lightfoot, whose most current song, Cry Baby is being voted on in the people’s choice category of the @YYC Music Awards.

Farty Marty (honestly his given name) and the Slackers, Rick Goderra and Friends, and The Band Peak also performed.

Bragg Creek Days was kicked off by the annual fundraising pancake breakfast prepared by the volunteer firefighters of Redwood Meadows Emergency Services. In a bit over 2 1/2 hours they served 500 meals.

The annual parade attracted about 30 entries, and crowds swarmed the marketplace, food trucks, petting zoo, and assorted kids' games.

Here are a few scenes from the day.
