As anticipated, it's the Cochrane Generals facing off against the Okotoks Bisons for the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) championship.

It's a best-of-five series that opens with two games in Okotoks at the Murray and Piper Arena on Mar. 18 and 19. The series returns to Cochrane for a pair on Mar. 24 and 26. If necessary, Game Five returns to Okotoks on Mar. 27.

The Medicine Hat Cubs did put up a fight in the south division final. Down 3-0, they won back-to-back games before the Bisons wrapped it up with a 4-1 win on Mar. 12.

The Gens haven't seen the Bisons since the start of the season and only played one exhibition game here in Cochrane on Sept. 3. They split a pair of exhibition games before the Gens beat them 6-1 on the road in their only regular-season meeting. That was way back on Sept. 17, and since then both teams have gone on to win their respective divisions.

The Bisons had 33 wins, two losses, and one overtime loss on the season. The Gens finished with a 28-5-3 record.

The Gens wrapped up the north division championship at home last Thursday night with a 4-2 win over the Red Deer Vipers
