The Cochrane Generals aim to get their season on track tonight at home against the Streller Lightning after being licked 12-4 by the high-flying Airdrie Techmation Thunder on Friday night.

Airdrie product Jordan McConnell scored twice and added four assists while Rylan Plante-Crough and Cooper Page had a pair of goals each to keep the Thunder a perfect 6-0. 

Braden Bain scored twice for the Gens, including an unassisted goal 15 minutes into the second to get the Gens on the scoreboard. Benjamin Davison had a powerplay goal and River Ross scored seconds into the third stanza.

The undefeated Thunder are proving to be unstoppable early in the season and have now racked up their second two double-digit goal-scoring spree of the season. They beat Stettler 13-3 in their season opener on Sept. 21.

The Gens were outshot 47-38. The Thunder scored eight on Erik Garber before he was replaced by Robert Michetti.

Thunder goaltender Ryan Simpson, who played his rookie season with the Gens before becoming aThunder last season, saved 34 of 38.

The Gens have lost their first two games of the season while Stettler comes into tonight's game with a 1-3 record.
