Farmers across the prairies continue to make good progress with the harvest. 

In  Alberta, 96 per cent of all crops have been harvested, which is on par with last year, and 26 per cent ahead of the 5-year average (2017-2021).

The latest crop report shows harvest is most advanced in the South and North East Regions, where more than 97 per cent of crops are now in the bin. 

About 96 per cent of crops are done in the Central Region and 95 per cent in the Peace Region have been combined.

Harvest in the North West Region is 90 per cent complete.

In Saskatchewan over 90 per cent of the crop is now in the bin.

The last crop report showed harvest in the southwest and west-central regions is virtually complete with mostly flax left to go. 

The northwest has 94 per cent of the crop off, the northeast 87 per cent, the southeast 86 per cent and 81 per cent of the harvest is complete in the east central part of the province.

Limited moisture throughout much of the harvest season has allowed crop quality to remain high.

Hard Red Spring Wheat which is being reported as 75 per cent 1CW, 23 per cent 2CW and two per cent 3CW. 

Meantime, in Manitoba this week's crop report puts the provincial harvest at 79 per cent complete.

Harvest activity varies across the province depending on seeding date and growing conditions. Many farms have completed harvest, while some have just started.

Provincially, 79 per cent of the Canola crop is in.

The Soybean harvest has jumped to 50 per cent complete, with yields ranging from 30 to over 60 bushels per acre.

According to the report some unharvested cereals have seen some quality downgrading from recent wet weather, where staining, mildew and sprouting has affected late wheat and oat crops.
