One hat trick is memorable. Three in four games is simply impressive.

First-year Chaos Kaley Mueller has been adding an offensive punch to the junior female hockey team.

The Red Deer player has scored 10 goals in her last five games. Three of those were hat tricks, two of them in back-to-back games.

"That was my first time back-to-back," she says. "It felt really good."

Ten games into the season, Mueller leads the team in scoring with 22 points in 14 games. Fifteen of them were goals.

Mueller came to the Cochrane junior female team after leaving the SAIT Trojans. She encouraged former Trojan teammate Shea Dolan to join as well.

The year previous she played for the Red Deer Chiefs in the Alberta Female Hockey League.

The 19-year-old says she has found a home with the Chaos.

"I love this team so much," says Mueller. "It's so much fun."

With the league now on its Christmas break, the Chaos have a firm grip on second in the south division. They're three points behind the Calgary Titans, but have two games in hand.

The Chaos season resumes on Jan. 11 against the Sherwood Park Steele.
