The Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area is once again preparing for a series of food drives in support of the Cochrane Activettes.

Last year Helping Hands pivoted its usual plans to comply with COVID-19 health and safety regulations, and still assist the Activettes in keeping shelves stocked at the food bank.

This year the organization aims to hold two food drives this Spring and two in the Fall, and they will each be held in a different section of Cochrane.

The Spring food drives are scheduled to take place on April 10 and May 15, 2021. The first will take place in Cochrane's East/Central neighbourhoods and the second drive will take place in the West Side.

The exact dates haven't been finalized for the fall food drives yet, which are scheduled to take place in the North and South neighbourhoods.

You can find a list of participating Cochrane neighbourhoods below.

Helping Hands say that by dividing Cochrane into four sections, they can ensure collection once at each house in the town of Cochrane.

They ask that residents leave food donations on their doorstep before 10 am, to ensure that volunteers will come to pick them up.

Helping Hands Executive Director Chairra Nicolle says that they are currently working out the details with participating partners and more information will be available later this week.
