Two packed days of music, dance, and visual arts will fill the downtown core for Cochrane Culture Days on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

The performances are being held on stages in the Historic Downtown and outside of the Cochrane Lions Event Centre (CLEC). An artisan marketplace is being held inside the events centre on both days.

Centre Stage, located in the Lions Club Event Centre parking lot, will be alive with 13 multicultural music, dancing, and drumming groups. You can sit on the grass in this natural amphitheatre to enjoy Chinese harp, Bolivian pan flute, Celtic band, Cochrane’s own dance studios’ dancers, Thai and Bhangra dancing, and the Mini Thni Dancers.

There's plenty of drumming, too, from Japanese Taiko to Stoney Nakoda, and you can join a djembe circle.

Front Stage, located Centennial Plaza in the Historic Downtown, leads off with the Cochrane Pipe Band and moves into jazz, folk, fusion and Dixie with bands and choirs from Cochrane, Canmore, and Calgary, plus the Mini Thni Dancers.

Register online now (www.cochraneartsociety.com/ccd2021-glass/) to play in the Mesmer’s Glass Concert at “Upstage” (Lions Club Event Centre). No experience is needed.

On Saturday, bring your kids to make their very own puppets at the Puppet Pop Up! All materials and helpers provided.

On Sunday, and move the earth in a mass percussion event on “found” instruments” at '!BOOM! She Said'.
