Due to unseasonably hot and dry conditions on the way, Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the region.

We can expect daytime highs in the high 20s to low 30s, with overnight lows in the low teens.

The warmest temperatures are expected to occur between Sunday and Tuesday.

These temperatures are approximately 10 to 15 degrees C warmer than seasonal.

With this warmth, the risk of heat-related illness can occur.

The special weather statement is in effect for Cochrane, Airdrie, Olds and Sundre.
