It's been three years since we've had the opportunity to take in the Foothills Art Club’s Annual Art Show and Sale, but this weekend is our chance.

Gwen Stickel, vice-president and coordinator of the show said they're pleased to be back for the first time since 2019 and they've got a wide variety of pieces to offer for everyone.

"You can expect up to 150 larger paintings. We have an area called the Boutique which all the paintings are under $100. You'd find acrylic, you'd find water colour, work done in pencil, pen and ink, it's quite a variety. It's very exciting."

The event is family-friendly and free to attend.

"There's one young man who is showing for the first time and he has canvases of action figures on them that would be good for any boys room. And then you've got people who have been painting for years and their work is so incredible that you're just kind of awe-struck by it all. It really is for any age group." said Stickel.

The show and sale goes at St. Andrew’s United Church from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., tomorrow (Saturday).

Anyone who is interested in joining the art club can sign up at the event or visit foothillsartclub.com.

The fee to become a member is $120 a year and that includes critique nights, guest artists, in-house demos, and they go out to Beaupre Hall to paint the mountains twice a month.
