Route 22 Artist Collective Gallery has launched a new fundraising program called “Love Your Gallery”.

Lara Kruger, President of Route 22’s board explains what their new fundraiser is all about. “Basically, it is to begin building our programming and to sustain our operations at the gallery for this year and for the years to come. We hope to be able to offer a lot of educational programming here in the future as soon as COVID has lost its grip on us a little bit. We've just got a lot of things in the works that require some funding and we're just looking at creative ways to look to the community to support us for that.”

“We're hoping for people to donate between $22 and $100 to be considered a friend of the gallery and that will be recognized on our website.”

She says they have had quite the year at Route 22. “It's been a very challenging time to be opening a nonprofit, but we did open in June of last year, originally, as a project under an existing nonprofit society in Cochrane. We then underwent a change of structure and decided to form our own nonprofit as a collective gallery. So we completed that in October and then put the galleries to rest for a month while we transitioned and then reopened in December, so it's been a busy year.”

The gallery is currently open and February’s theme is Loving-Kindness.
