First responders in Cochrane are sharing their condolences following the tragic deaths of two Edmonton police officers yesterday. 

Speaking for the detachment, RCMP Cst. Bonnie Sauve says, "Cochrane detachment is deeply saddened by the news. We are facing troubled times for sure, and we just want to send our thoughts and condolences to our colleagues at the Edmonton Police Service, the families of Constables Travis Jordan and Brett Ryan, and their friends." 

Arrangements for the funerals of the fallen officers are being finalized, and Cst. Sauve says, "Our detachment commander is in full support of his members attending the funeral service for both officers. We are just waiting to hear the update from Edmonton as to when that will be."

Cochrane Fire Services posted on their social media yesterday, "Tragic news coming out of Edmonton this morning. Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and co-workers of the Edmonton Police Service. The risks are real, and the outcomes can be tragic."

The Town of Cochrane posted this response yesterday: "Cochrane council and administration extend our deepest condolences to the families and community of Edmonton Police Officers, Cst. Travis Jordan, and Cst. Brett Ryan, killed in the line of duty today. In memory of the two fallen officers, Cochrane facilities have lowered flags to half-mast."
