RCMP have charged a man after an armed robbery at a Canmore grocery store. 

Store staff reported a robbery taking place shortly before 5 p.m. on May 14th to the RCMP.

When the two suspects were approached, one of them threatened a staff member with a firearm. 

The pair then fled the scene. 

Officers arrested two suspects on May 15 after an extensive investigation.

Thirty-four-year-old Jesse James Gunn of no fixed address, has been charged with a total of 29 offences. These include two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, and four counts of careless use of a firearm. 

Gunn has been remanded into custody and his next court appearance will be in Canmore on May 24, 2023.

The second suspect was not charged in this investigation.
