It's been a banner year for Cochrane Minor Hockey teams.

The Bantam Tier 1 Cochrane Rockies were silver medallists in the Bantam 'A' provincials hosted by Cold Lake. They came out of the round robin with a 4-2 record, beating Lloydminster, Leduc Roughnecks and Grande Prairie to earn a berth in the semifinals. A win there over Westlock gave them a shot at the gold medal against the NWZ Outlaws.

Prior to that the team were the Zone 6 champions, the regular season champs and won one gold medal and two silver in tournament play. A number of the team players led the league in individual stats in both league play and at the provincial tournament.

The Atom Tier 5 Blue were the Central Alberta Hockey League champions after finishing in third place in the regular season. They won against Carstairs and Hanna in the first two rounds to move on to play in the finals against Didsbury.

The atoms won the first game of that series then dug deep to battle back from a three-goal deficit in game two to win the championship. Down 5-2 going into the third, they tied it up by the end of regulation, then scored a short-handed goal on a breakaway to win the cup.

Congratulations to both teams.
