Are you ready for a free evening out with the family?

Setup has begun for the two free movies being shown tonight (Aug. 14) in Mitford Park.

The third time proved to be the charm for sponsor Cochrane Home Treasures, the local not-for-profit community and family thrift store, after having to cancel the showings twice due to poor weather.

Up first on the massive outdoor screen is Sing 2 at 6 p.m., followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home at 8:30 p.m.

A specialized daylight screen is being utilized, so viewing shouldn't be a problem.

People are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs and set them up facing the park's Paul Daniels Stage. Additional porta-potties have been brought in for the showings.

"Bring a chair, sunscreen, and maybe even an umbrella for some shade," suggests Home Treasures manager Cayley Breeze.

While you're welcome to bring your own snacks and refreshments, she reminds people there will be food available for purchase from food trucks in the park.

Nonperishable food donations will also be accepted for the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.
