Hazardous air quality conditions continued to see the cancellation of youth games and practices.

Both Cochrane Minor Ball (CMB) and the Bow Valley Rugby Club (BVRC) have notified their members that practices and games have been cancelled today.

In an email to CMB members, administration and operations coordinator Michelle O'How said parents with questions should reach out to their managers or coaches.

In making their announcement, the BVRC also reminded their members that there are no practices on the holiday Monday.

"See you in a week, ruggers!" the message concludes.

Environment Canada has issued a special air quality statement for Cochrane area residents.

It states, air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour.

"Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health, even at low concentrations. Everyone can take action to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke."
