UPDATE: The area impacted by the power outage has shrunk. According to Fortis Alberta, it's now impacting 308 customers in the Gleneagles neighbourhood, down from 1,927 earlier today in an area that included a larger section of Rocky View County and a few homes in Calgary.

Fortis Alberta continues to estimate power will be restored no later than 3:30 p.m.

Earlier today, emergency repairs began for a power outage that initially impacted 1,927 Fortis Alberta customers, including those in Gleneagles, small portion of Rocky View County and a few Calgary residents.

Officials state restoration is underway and are anticipated to be completed no later than 3:30 p.m. this afternoon.

Currently, the traffic lights are out at the intersection of Hwy. 22 and Gleneagles Drive/ Range Rd. 40. When traffic lights are out, and there's no traffic control, they should be treated as a four-way stop by motorists.
