Cochrane RCMP has confirmed the Saturday collision involving a motorcyclist has resulted in a fatality. 

The investigation continues on the collision that occurred on Saturday, May 7, 2022, along Hwy. 22 north of Cochrane.

It has been determined that multiple vehicles were traveling northbound along the highway. The first vehicle slowed to make a left-hand turn and the vehicles traveling behind also slowed and came to a stop. The northbound motorcycle then collided with the stopped vehicles.

Both bystanders on-site and emergency responders immediately provided first aid but the 23-year-old male motorcyclist from Calgary succumbed to his injuries.

Cochrane RCMP extends their deepest condolences to the young man’s family and friends.
