The freestyle trial stunt riders of Ride the Vibe will be thrilling audiences on both days of the Cochrane Fair.

To the oohs and ahhs of the crowd, they'll be performing amazing flips and jumps with their lightweight, low-noise trial bikes.

Sam King says it's great to be back after a two-year absence.

"We absolutely love the community there," says King. "Our show was very well received and we had a great time, so we're really excited to get back to the Cochrane Fair."

Trials bikes are interesting machines that combine the lightness and handling qualities of a mountain bike with the power produced by a small motorcycle engine with lots of torque. These seatless machines with a softer suspension are rugged and capable of tackling the most difficult obstacles you'd find in an off-road environment. Ride the Vibe uses that maneuverability to perform crowd-pleasing acrobatic stunts.

"We're doing jumps, we're hopping up onto a C-can, and we'll be demonstrating the trial skills by throwing in some of the tricks like backflips and other tricks you'd typically see on a BMX."

This summer, Ride the Vibe has a hectic schedule that takes them across Canada. Based out of Golden, British Columbia, this is one of their few shows in Alberta, the most recent a 10-day stand at Edmonton's K-Days.

After this, they're heading to Vancouver Island, New Brunswick, and Ontario.

"I'm ecstatic to be back to work and having fun with crowds and being among people again. It's definitely refreshing after a couple of years of COVID and it's nice to be back to some normality."

King has been doing freestyle trials since he was 16 in his native Australia and has performed and competed internationally from Australia to Malaysia and Canada to China. He moved to Canada about eight years ago and at 27, Ride the Vibe performances continue to be in high demand.

Their first show at the Cochrane Fair is Friday at 3 p.m.
