Two teenagers were sent to hospital in critical condition after a rollover just outside Cochrane.

RCMP Sergeant Darleen White says around 8 last night, RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on Highway 1 just West of Highway 22.

"When members arrived, there were witnesses on scene that said the vehicle was travelling at very high rate of speed," she says. "Then they observed it roll several times in the South ditch."

The 19 year old male driver was airlifted to hospital by STARS, the 18 year old female passenger was taken to hospital via ground ambulance.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor at this point, no charges have been laid yet in the incident.

"Blood was taken at the hospital and it will have to be examined to determine the alcohol concentration if any."

Sgt. White reminds everyone to call 911 if they see somebody driving erratically, or suspect an impaired driver.
