This Saturday, Nov. 26 will be a special day in Water Valley, thanks to their community association's annual Christmas Market.

Being staged in the heart of the community from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., they'll be vendors, horse-drawn wagon rides, and tasty food at their concession.

Chair Dawn Lashmar says they have almost 40 vendors in the community hall.

"Most of the vendors there will be offering handcrafted items. So we've got jewellry, knitting, wood crafts, gnomes, all sorts of great things."

Bushel Barbecue, which specializes in Central Texas-style smoking, will be offering brisket sandwiches and smoked white chicken chili at the concession.

Santa will be in The Chapel, located on the corner of the community's four-way stop, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They'll be offering professional photos with Santa when you donate to the food bank. Also in the Chapel, the local 4H Club will be doing children's activities and there's a free hot chocolate station.

It doesn't end there. A Christmas social follows at 4:30 p.m. that will end with fireworks lighting the sky at around 6:30 p.m.

Lashmar says the weather looks to be ideal for the event and they hope to get back to pre-pandemic numbers. It's been a Water Valley tradition for over 10 years.
