It wasn't very pretty for the Rocky View Silvertips in Red Deer this morning.

The Silvertips squared off against the Shamrocks in their third game of the Larry Bishop Memorial Cup for the Tier One Junior B championship in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League and were humbled by the Calgary team, 14-1.

Nolan Oakey scored the only goal for the Silvertips who saw their record fall to 1 and 2 at the tourney.

The Tips play their final game of the round-robin tonight at 6 p.m. when they meet the Fort Saskatchewan Rebels.  Rockyview will need a victory plus some help from other teams to have a chance to finish second in the round-robin standings and play in tomorrow's gold medal game that goes at 1 p.m.

The Rocky View Silvertips were 1-1 after the first day of play.

After dropping their opener 13 - 5 to the Red Deer Rampage, the Tips squared off against the Eastern Division champion Manitoba Blizzard in their second encounter.

Matthew Dyck lead the team to a 14-10 victory with an incredible seven-goal, two-assist performance.  Nolan Oakey contributed two goals and three assists while Josh Harro had a seven-point game with a goal and six assists.
