After a very intense game the Cochrane Cobras Junior Varsity Girls Basketball team came out on top on December 20.

The Cobras second league game took place on home court against George McDougall which ended in a score of 51- 35 in favor of the Cobras.

Doug Jensen, the Cobras Head Coach, says George McDougall gave them a run for their money.

"It was a tight fast paced battle. George McDougall is a very good team and they played a very strong defense so they gave us a lot of trouble. It was a fast paced very energetic game."

The Cobras have ended their 2016 season with only 2 league games but have played in two tournaments.

On December 17- 18 the Cochrane Cobras played in a tournament in Lacombe and won in the Finals against Holy Trinity.

Jensen says his team may be winning but there are some tough games coming up in the new year.

"We're doing well so far this season. We have a lot to work on and there are some tough teams in our future. Chestemere, especially, they are typically very tough competitors for us. We've already played them once in the SAIT tournament and lost a close one by three."

After the Christmas break the Cochrane Cobras Junior Girls will continue to focus their sites on the Divisional Title and Zone Championships.
