Cochrane RCMP are currently on the scene of a police incident in the neighbourhood of Sunset Ridge and had asked residents to shelter in place at around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. By 8:10 p.m. the shelter in place order was lifted.

RCMP say there is no risk to the public. A heavy police presence can still be seen in the area. 

An update is expected once more information is available.
