Team Wipf got off on the wrong foot, but fought back to top the preliminary round in the Alberta Optimist U18 boys provincials to earn a bye into the final.
They came home with the silver medal after losing to the Kinley Burton in the final, 7-4.
The Kenan Wipf rink took an early lead with two in the first end and held a 3-1 after four. Team Burton scored two in the fifth and three in the seventh to take control.
Cochrane's Max Cinnamon is lead for the Wipf Rink. The team prequalified by being at the top of the Alberta Junior Tour.
The Wyatt Wright rink also advanced to the provincials and had two wins in the preliminary round. The team includes third Ky Macaulay and coach Gordon Copithorne, of the Cochrane area.
