A volunteer group of 8 from The Cochrane and Area Events Society are headed to the Hitmen Hockey game and the Annual Teddy Bear Toss on December 1.

The CAES is busy planning the Stuff the Bus Event here in Cochrane on December 14 and in order to do that they are headed to the Annual Teddy Bear Toss.

Marina Chabbert, Assistant Chair for the CAES says, "This is the first year we will be heading to the game to help count, and bag and sort the teddy bears after the game is completed. We are really looking forward to it because we are the recipients of some of the teddy bears we are getting 600 teddy bears back to our community, which is an incredible amount. We thought we would volunteer and donate our time to help with the program."

Every year the Teddy Bear Toss sees thousands of teddy bears tossed on the ice when The Hitmen score their first goal.  Last year, there were over 27,000 teddy bears tossed.  Needless to say the volunteers have their work cut out for them this year.
