The Cochrane camera club is hosting its semi-annual fine art photography show and sale this weekend.

The event will showcase thirty local photographers and their works from all over Cochrane as well as their travels around the world.

Cochrane camera club president Wendi Forster says they have an impressive showcase with a wide array of art.

"There's such a variety, different folks like different media to print on so there's everything from paper to canvas to metal and acrylic. We really do have the whole gamut."

Although the event will showcase photography works from all over the world, Forster says there is no shortage of amazing sights to capture in and around Cochrane.

"There's so much to see and do in this community and within a twenty to thirty kilometre radius you can photograph, elk, owls, bears and then the landscape and architecture;

it's just so amazing. Each photographer has their specialty that they love to shoot and they love to show it off."

Forster says that the fine art show and sale is a great place to pick up a Christmas present for that hard to shop for person on your list or to treat yourself to a new piece of art.

The show is taking place this Saturday, from 10 am to 4 pm at The RancheHouse.
