Owner of Eurhythmics Dance Studio, Jodi Aasen, couldn't have been more proud.

Not only did the studio have an incredible dance year, but Aasen has been an integral part of many dancers' lives for the past 20 years. Aasen celebrated with a special choreographed routine at year end recital on May 28.

"Our 20 year recital was the best yet! It was such a wonderful feeling to dance with dancers in our alumni performance. Fourty two dancers took part in this performance which included dancers from Eurhythmics from the last 2 decades."

Stories of laughter, encouragement, and heartfelt passion were heard from alumni dancers who came to be part of the year end recital. On top of the alumni performance, approximately 200 dancers took part in the year end celebration which showcased techniques learned throughout the year.

Aasen, shares looking back she feels blessed by all the support. "I am so thankful for the continuous support of our staff, dancers, and parents. The dance society put on a terrific display in the lobby of all photos and videos from the last 20 years. Many memories and lots of love filled the Jubilee Auditorium that day. This was definitely a reminder of how special our dance family is."

With the 2016/17 season now wrapped up, Aasen will focus attention on her expansion into a second studio space in Bow Ridge. "It is now time to focus on renovating the new studio as well as finish planning for the 'Happy Hearts' program."

Happy Hearts is a new program for Aasen which certifies her to bring the love dance to children of all needs and abilities.

"I am so thrilled to be working on this new local dance program for these incredible children with individual learning differences and special needs.  I became a certified instructor with Rhythm Works Integrative Dance in November 2016. It was exciting to see that research is connecting music, rhythm and movement to aid in improvement in motor function, speech, balance and more. We have always felt that everyone deserves the chance to dance and perform and I'm so excited to get this program underway."

Classes will start up in September for all dancers and information can be found here.
