The boys U18 Rangers soccer team not only had an undefeated regular season but just brought home the gold from provincials in Edmonton.

Lisa Benjamin, Team Manager, says it was a great finish and an awesome way to cap off their many seasons of youth soccer.

"They played together since U12 and this year a lot of these boys here it's their last season in 'U' soccer, as a lot of them are graduating, so it was very successful."

The team beat out all 12 teams in the regular division and after a tie in the first game of provincials the boys pulled out all the stops.

"It was a pretty exciting tournament weekend, typically they are pretty tough teams that we play. We tied the first game so we had to win the second game by 5, so we ended up winning 9-3 the second game. Then we were very successful in the third game it was a 6-0 win, we got a shutout. Then the last game was 2-0 so it was a very tight, physical game we ended up winning."

Benjamin, adds the best part was this was the first provincial win for many of the boys.

As the indoor season wraps up, many of the players will transition to outdoor soccer as evaluations are now underway.
