Yogis will certainly feel more zen-like thanks to a partnership between Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre (SLSFSC) and the Cochrane Chapter of Jumpstart.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is the sponsor of the new Mind and Body Studio at SLSFSC providing an environment that enhances relaxation for yoga lovers.

Fountains, candles and ambient lighting give the space a boutiquey feel which Brian Neave with SLSFSC, was happy about. "This room went through a few transitions but then we decided to make it into a yoga studio and the boutique studio that people are really craving. But we didn't really have the resources to do what we wanted to do with it so we approached Canadian Tire and they really did step up in a big way for us."

Although yoga classes have been part of SLSFSC programming for awhile the number of classes being offered is rapidly growing including the addition of an evening beer league, for the men who 'don't do' yoga.

Chris Birch, General Manager, Cochrane Canadian Tire was more than game to collaborate on the redesign of the studio. "We thought this would be a really unique opportunity for us to, again, partner with Spray Lakes and give back in a unique way. They do so much for us."

The two organizations are not new to partnering together, Cochrane's Jumpstart Chapter has teamed up with SLSFSC for the past 5 years for Jumpstart Games encouraging Cochrane youth to get physically moving and embracing an active lifestyle.

Jumpstart provided the opportunity for 754 underprivileged youth to get involved in sports last year to a tune of $88,500, with 100% of the proceeds going to support local youth.

Collaboration and community partnership is something both organizations support, do well and hope others follow suit.
