The Alberta Legislative Assembly adjourned seven days ago for the last sitting before the provincial election.

Households across Alberta started receiving information in their mailboxes yesterday from Elections Alberta on registering to vote in the upcoming provincial general election.

It was seven days ago that the Alberta Legislative Assembly adjourned after a flurry of pre-election promises. They won't sit again until after a new assembly is elected.

Elections Alberta is encouraging electors to register or update their information at www.voterlink.ab.ca, or by calling the provincial contact centre at 1-877-422-8683. The contact centre is available from 8:15 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends.

The latest the election can be held is May 29.
